Available Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Wellness and Preventative Care

At Commonwealth Veterinary Clinic, the only thing more important than treating your pet when they are sick, is doing everything we can to keep them from getting sick in the first place. That's why we put so much emphasis on a regular exam ( annual for most, semi-annual for others).  During this examination we can discuss and recommend vaccines, parasite prevention, behavior and nutrition that is unique to your pet. It also provides an opportunity for us to discuss various non-critical conditions such as arthritis and skin problems.  Our recommendations are based on AAHA guidelines that are reviewed regularly.

Surgical Care

Our state-of-the-art surgical suite allows for a wide variety of surgical procedures. Some of these surgical procedures are spays, neuters, general soft tissue surgeries, growth removals, exploratory surgeries, gastropexies, limited orthopedic surgeries and entropion surgeries. We also provide dental services for your pet’s oral health. Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care

Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  Some of these services include electrocardiography, x-rays, in-house laboratory facilities supported by IDEXX, blood pressure monitoring, eye pressure monitoring, and cytology.  For cases that require, we can assist in referrals to veterinary specialists and or overnight monitoring facilities.

Pharmacy

We maintain a vast inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. If you’re looking for a product other than what we provide at our clinic, you can also go to our online pharmacy here to order what you need. We also carry a full line of prescription diets which include Hills and Royal Canin dry and canned foods.

Boarding

We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday. While your pet is boarding with us, we can provide a routine therapeutic bath along with other services such as a nail trim or ear cleaning. Give us a call today to schedule boarding or a bath!

Domestic/International

Traveling Certificates

Traveling with a pet to another state or country can be stressful. We thrive to make this process as easy as possible. If you are traveling with a pet over state lines or out of the country, there may be specific health requirements upon your destination. If you need a certificate of health examination done, we ask that your pet's exam is scheduled at least a few weeks in advance.
