Dr. Holly Barton
Dr. Holly
F. Barton received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2008. While
in veterinary school, she was an active member of the Food Animal Practitioner's
club, serving as the small ruminant representative. Although primarily focusing
on small animals during her senior year, she developed a strong interest in
working with cattle, sheep, and goats throughout her veterinary career.
Prior to attending
veterinary school, Dr. Barton attended Swarthmore College, where she studied
Russian and played both varsity basketball and volleyball. Her first job out of
college was teaching Algebra to high school students in Brooklyn, New
York.
Having grown up in
beautiful Nelson County, Dr. Barton is excited to return to the area. Currently she lives in Charlottesville with her sweet Beagle, Nia, and her two cats, Tachi
and Pumpkin. She is very interested in all species although she really enjoys
working with sheep and goats. Neurology is also a special area of interest. In
her free time, Dr. Barton likes to read, garden, and play volleyball. She is
also hoping to start taking dressage lessons again.
